Advanced (AM) English assesses students on the accuracy, fluency and coherence in their use of English, including grammar, punctuation and spelling, and their ability to organise and present information, ideas, descriptions and arguments clearly and logically is also decisive in the assessment of their performance.

The study area AM English is informed by the National Curriculum Framework (NCF). The Edexcel International A’Level English is informed by Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
The Syllabus assumes knowledge of English Language at SEC Level (or equivalent). English Literature at SEC Level (or equivalent familiarity with close study of texts), while not an obligatory requirement, is recommended, as experience has shown that it helps students acquire a readier competence in the literature-related components of the Syllabus. However, if the student hasn’t obtained this O’Level, we will help out with covering the pre-requisite knowledge as well.
