IM (Intermediate) Sociology provides students with a grounding in sociology, based on a range of thematic areas that represent some of the key contemporary fields of inquiry in the discipline. The syllabus content is intended to function as a stand-alone post-secondary area of study.

The study area IM (Intermediate) Sociology is informed by the National Curriculum Framework (NCF).
The student at Intermediate level will be subject to an assessment as outlined in the scheme of assessment. The assessment will target knowledge and understanding, application, and basic analysis and evaluation.
At the end of the programme, the student will be able to:
