AM (Advanced) Geography attempts at making geography a user-friendly subject, where students following it will pass through a positive experience. Special attention has also been given to include the geography of the Maltese Islands as a core area.

The study area AM (Advanced) Geography is informed by the National Curriculum Framework (NCF). The Edexcel International A’Level Geography is informed by Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
Geography is a subject that straddles the natural and social sciences. It is also a subject that looks at phenomena from the spatial perspective, more specifically geography looks at distributions over the Earth’s surface. The syllabus includes the main physical characteristics that make up the natural environment and the central themes that govern humans and their actions on the planet.
At the end of the programme, the student will be able to:
AM (Advanced) Geography will cover all of the subject’s core syllabus including: Atmospheric Processes and Patterns, Geomorphology, Coastal Environments, Fluvial Systems and Processes, Biospheric Processes and Patterns, Population, Migration and Settlement Dynamics, Food Supply and Manufacturing Industries, Extractive Industries and Energy, and Global Interdependence.
